Vintage Christmas Decorations – A Vintage Christmas

One of the best ways to bring back childhood memories is with Vintage Christmas Decorations.

The idea of a Vintage Christmas is to re-live the magic of your childhood, to dwell on nostalgia and to reminisce about the fantastic memories of your past.

Vintage Christmas decorations are a wonderful source to achieve your Christmas dream.  One of the best sources is to raid your parents’ or grandparents’ garage or attic.  Failing that, visit some local garage sales and see what you can find.  Often you will find that other people celebrated Christmas with the same ornaments and decorations that you did. Before long, you will have a number of items that feed your memories.

A vintage Christmas is a theme.  It doesn’t mean you have to be surrounded by old stuff.  New items that have a nostalgic feel, or new items arranged in a nostalgic way, will have a great effect.

Now is the time to buy vintage Christmas ornaments and decorations.  The best time is in January-February, or in August-September.

Christmas only comes twice a year!  What? That’s right. In many cultures, “Christmas In July” is just as big as Christmas in December.

Because it happens twice a year, the ideal time to search for other people’s unwanted Christmas items is just after they have finished using them.  Of course, there may be more items for sale prior to the event, but this usually comes with an increased price tag.  So search for your bargains just after Christmas.

The best vintage Christmas is one that has been put together with love and feeling. If you put your Christmas together with care, it will show. Your guests may not be aware of its subliminal effect, but they will be drawn into it just the same.  And they will have a wonderful Christmas experience to talk about later.

Think back over the Christmasses of your childhood.  Remember the magic.  Don’t you wish you could create memories like that for someone else?
